Immunological aspects of endometriosis
This review proposes that endometriosis develops from refluxing endometrial cells evading immune destruction due to genetic predisposition, overloaded scavenging capacity, or mesothelial protection, leading to chronic inflammation, immune suppression, and autoantibody production.
