Distinct mechanisms regulate cyclooxygenase-1 and -2 in peritoneal macrophages of women with and without endometriosis
This study found that cyclooxygenase-2 expression is significantly increased in peritoneal macrophages from women with endometriosis, while cyclooxygenase-1 expression is elevated only in severe stages, and inflammatory agents affect expression differently between women with and without endometriosis.
