Effects of Vitamin D on Endometriosis-Related Pain: A Double-Blind Clinical Trial
This clinical trial found that weekly vitamin D supplementation for 12 weeks did not significantly reduce pelvic pain or dysmenorrhea in women with endometriosis after surgery compared to placebo.

This double-blind randomized clinical trial studied whether vitamin D supplementation reduces endometriosis-related pain in patients with surgically diagnosed and laparoscopically treated endometriosis who had dysmenorrhea and/or pelvic pain scores of at least 3 at 8 weeks after surgery. Participants received either vitamin D 50,000 IU weekly for 12 weeks or placebo, and pain severity was compared using VAS at 24 weeks after laparoscopy. The study found no significant differences between groups for pelvic pain (p=0.24) or dysmenorrhea (p=0.45), with similar mean pain scores at follow-up.
