Abstract

BackgroundTo date, a limited number of endometriosis cases occurring before or around the time of menarche have been documented.CaseAn 11-year-old adolescent underwent an emergency operation for left ovarian endometrioma. Her menarche occurred spontaneously 6 months after surgery.Results and conclusionsWe discuss the above mentioned case and consider data published in the literature. Endometrioma should be considered even in premenarcheal girls with ovarian cysts, regardless of their size.
