Uterine Peristaltic Activity and the Development of Endometriosis
This paper proposes that uterine hyperperistalsis, caused by endometrial estrogen interfering with ovarian control of myometrial peristalsis, promotes retrograde menstruation and endometrial proliferation, leading to endometriosis and adenomyosis.
