Association between MIND diet its components with endometriosis risk: secondary results from a case-control study
Higher adherence to the MIND diet, characterized by nuts, fish, and vegetables, was associated with significantly lower odds of endometriosis in a case-control study.

This hospital-centered case-control study assessed whether adherence to the MIND diet was associated with endometriosis odds in women aged 18–49 in Tehran, Iran, using a validated 168-item food frequency questionnaire and logistic regression adjusted for potential confounders. The analysis included 105 women with gynecologist-confirmed endometriosis and 208 healthy controls, and found that each one-unit increase in MIND diet score was associated with lower endometriosis odds (OR 0.530, 95% CI 0.421–0.666, p<0.001), with high adherence (above the mean) showing even lower odds (OR 0.175, 95% CI 0.080–0.381, p<0.001). Limitations noted include the cross-sectional/case-control design, self-reported dietary intake, and potential unmeasured confounding. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — it evaluates the association between MIND diet adherence (and its component foods) and endometriosis risk.
