Serum Interleukin-6 Levels in Endometriosis and Endometriosis-Associated Ovarian Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Demonstrating a Biological Gradient
This meta-analysis of 106 studies found that serum interleukin-6 levels progressively increased from healthy controls to non-endometriosis benign conditions, then to endometriosis, and finally to ovarian cancer, suggesting an inflammation-driven biological gradient.
