Endometriosis coexisting with mature cystic teratoma in the same ovary and ectopic pregnancy of left fallopian tube: a rare coexistence
This case report describes the rare simultaneous occurrence of endometriosis and a mature cystic teratoma in the same ovary, along with a left fallopian tube ectopic pregnancy.

This paper reports a rare clinical case in a 28-year-old woman with fimbrial ectopic pregnancy, bilateral enlarged ovarian masses, and irregular nodular endometrial thickening, evaluated with transvaginal ultrasound and MRI and treated laparoscopically. Intraoperative findings included hemoperitoneum and bleeding from the left fimbrial end, after which the bleeding site was sutured and the ovarian cysts were enucleated; pathology confirmed chorionic villi in the tubal material consistent with ectopic pregnancy and mature cystic teratomas in both ovaries, with histologic presence of ovarian endometriosis coexisting with mature teratoma in the left ovary. Postoperatively, a prophylactic single dose of intramuscular methotrexate was given and β-hCG decreased, but the patient was lost to follow-up. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — specifically, it documents the simultaneous histologic coexistence of ovarian endometriosis with a mature cystic teratoma in the same ovary alongside a fimbrial ectopic pregnancy.
