Abstract
Endometriosis is defined as the presence of endometrial glands and stroma outside the uterine cavity. It is typically confined to the pelvis, particularly the ovaries, posterior cul-desac, anterior uterovesical peritoneum, uterosacral ligaments, fallopian tubes, uterus, and rectovaginal septum; however, it has been reported to occur in more remote locations including the lung, pleura, extremities, pelvic lymph nodes, and surgical scars.
