Role of estrogen and progesterone in the regulation of uterine peristalsis: results from perfused non-pregnant swine uteri
This study using perfused swine uteri found that estrogen increases intrauterine pressure and stimulates cervico-fundal peristalsis, while progesterone inhibits this directed uterine activity.
