Expression of p27 and Jun activation domain-binding protein 1 in endometriosis
This study investigated and found increased Jun activation domain-binding protein 1 (Jab1) expression but similar p27 expression in endometriosis ovarian cysts compared to controls.

This study evaluated differential expression of the cell cycle signaling proteins p27 and Jun activation domain-binding protein 1 (Jab1) in benign ovarian tissues from 26 patients with endometriosis and 28 non-endometriosis controls using immunohistochemistry. In the endometriosis group, CD10, Jab1, and p27 were positive in 50%, 48.3%, and 57.7% of cases, respectively, compared with 14.3%, 17.9%, and 50% in the non-endometriosis group, and Jab1 and p27 positivity were higher in definite endometriosis cases. The authors report no differences in clinical characteristics between the groups. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — it compares ovarian expression of Jab1 and p27 between endometriosis and non-endometriosis patients.
