Abstract
Sixty patients with chronic pelvic pain were monitored after diagnostic laparoscopy had excluded obvious pelvic pathology. Six months after the procedure only two patients described their symptoms as unchanged or worse. Treatment should be limited to the minority of patients whose symptoms remain 6 months after laparoscopy.
