Real-world outcomes of the levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system for heavy menstrual bleeding or dysmenorrhea in Japanese patients: A prospective observational study (J-MIRAI)
This study found the levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system (LNG-IUS) effectively reduced dysmenorrhea, chronic pelvic pain, and painful defecation in Japanese patients over 12 months, with metrorrhagia and procedural pain as common adverse events, and obesity, adenomyosis, or long uterine cavity increasing expulsion risk.
