This mini-review systematically searched databases from August 2017 to August 2022 to evaluate evidence on anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) levels and AMH receptor II expression in relation to adenomyosis, including outcomes before and after adenomyosis treatments and molecular findings. Across retrieved human studies, AMH appears lower in women with endometriosis-related conditions including adenomyosis/uterine endometriosis (especially with ovarian endometriomas), while multiple surgical or procedural approaches such as adenomyomectomy and HIFU did not significantly change AMH levels; a limitation noted by the authors is the small number of studies and heterogeneity. A molecular pathology study reported stronger AMH receptor II (AMHRII) protein and mRNA expression in adenomyotic tissue, leading to speculation about potential future therapeutic relevance. This paper is centrally about adenomyosis — it reviews how AMH levels and AMHRII relate to adenomyosis prognosis and possible therapy.
