The Expression of Cyclophilin A in Ovarian Endometrioma: Its Correlation with Recurrence and Vascularity
Cyclophilin A expression is significantly higher in ovarian endometrioma cyst walls than in control endometrial tissue and correlates with endometrioma recurrence and dysmenorrhea recurrence.

This cross-sectional study compared cyclophilin A (CyPA) immunoreactivity in cyst wall samples from 44 consecutive women with histologically confirmed ovarian endometrioma to control endometrial tissue from 40 women without endometriosis. CyPA expression in glandular cells, stromal cells, and capillary endothelium was significantly higher in endometrioma cyst walls than in control endometrium. Correlation analyses showed glandular CyPA expression associated with endometrioma recurrence, while stromal and vascular endothelial CyPA expression were associated with dysmenorrhea recurrence. This paper centrally about endometriosis — it evaluates CyPA expression in ovarian endometrioma tissue and links it to recurrence and vascularity.
