This case report describes a 43-year-old woman undergoing chemotherapy for T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia in whom CT detected an appendiceal mass that could not be reliably distinguished from an appendiceal tumor, with neuroendocrine tumor also considered. She underwent single-port laparoscopic appendectomy as a diagnostic treatment because the lesion was small and there were no findings suggesting metastatic lymph nodes. Postoperative histopathological examination established the diagnosis of appendiceal endometriosis. The authors note that appendiceal tumors due to endometriosis are rare and that endometriosis can present with variable symptoms not necessarily linked to menstrual cycles, making diagnosis difficult. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — it reports a rare case of appendiceal endometriosis that mimicked an appendiceal tumor.
