Abstract

Endometriosis is a major cause of infertility and currently is identified in 21 of infertile women (Strathy et al., 1982). Recently endometriosis has been recognized as a cause of spontaneous abortion (Petersohn, 1970; Jones and Jones, 1971; Rock et al., 1981; Naples et al., 1981; Olive et al., 1982). This has important therapeutic implications; treatment of endometriosis in the infertile couple should correct both problems — the inability to conceive and the fetal wastage.
