Copeptin is associated with the severity of endometriosis
Serum copeptin levels are elevated in women with endometriosis and correlate positively with disease severity and endometrioma size.

This case–control study evaluated whether serum copeptin differed between 50 women with surgically proven endometriosis and 36 women without endometriosis, and whether copeptin related to disease severity; participants were grouped into minimal–mild versus moderate–severe (stages 1–2 vs 3–4) and serum copeptin, CA-125, CA-19-9, CA-15-3, and C-reactive protein were measured. Serum copeptin and multiple tumor markers were higher in the endometriosis group, and copeptin (and CA-19-9) were significantly higher in stage 3–4 than stage 1–2, with copeptin positively correlated with disease stage and endometrioma size. A ROC analysis reported CA-125 as having the highest AUC for predicting endometriosis; the paper does not state additional limitations in the provided text beyond its case–control design. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — it tests whether serum copeptin is associated with the presence and severity of endometriosis.
