This retrospective cohort study used questionnaire-based case histories from women seen at Ramakrishna Medical Centre in Trichy between January 2012 and June 2015, including 195 women with endometriosis presenting with infertility and excluding those without endometriosis. Among women undergoing laparoscopy, the study reported an incidence of 34.2% (195/569), with the highest incidence in the 26–30 years age group and primary infertility in 84.5% of subjects, while some association was observed between endometriosis stage (AFS scoring) and laparoscopy findings; however, it found no association between age and stage. The paper also reported that PCOS, fibroids, and Mullerian anomalies were observed with endometriosis. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — it examines age distribution, AFS stage on laparoscopy, and relationships with primary/secondary infertility in a South Indian district cohort.
