Endometriosis impact on the course of pregnancy and obstetric outcomes
This retrospective study found that women with endometriosis have increased risks of spontaneous miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, vomiting, premature birth, Cesarean section, and pathological placental attachment compared to those without the condition.

This retrospective cohort study compared pregnancy complications and adverse obstetric outcomes in 478 women with endometriosis versus 544 women without endometriosis. Across outcomes including spontaneous miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, vomiting of pregnant women, premature birth, caesarean section, pathological placental attachment, postpartum hemorrhage, and small for gestational age fetuses, women with endometriosis had higher incidences of spontaneous miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, vomiting of pregnancy, premature birth, increased caesarean section, and pathological placental attachment. The study found no association between endometriosis and postpartum hemorrhage or small for gestational age fetuses. This association between endometriosis and pregnancy complications is reported as requiring further research to clarify mechanisms. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — it investigates how endometriosis affects the course of pregnancy and obstetric outcomes.
