Abstract

Endometriomas occur in a subset of patients with endometriosis. Treatment is surgical, particularly for larger sized endometriomas. The presence of an endometrioma in the ovary and/or its treatment may diminish ovarian reserve and negatively affect fertility. Patients with endometriomas may benefit from fertility preservation techniques currently offered to patients undergoing gonadotoxic chemotherapy or radiation treatment.
