Researchers analyzed nine specific single nucleotide polymorphisms using linear regression to determine how these genetic variants correlated with concentrations of follicle-stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone, prolactin, estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, and dehydroepiandrosterone. The results identified significant links between specific loci, such as ZNF789 and ZKSCAN5, and elevated estradiol and testosterone levels, while other SNPs were associated with variations in luteinizing hormone, progesterone, and prolactin.
