Morphological substrate and pathogenetic mechanisms of pelvic pain syndrome in endometriosis. Part II. Peripheral nerve tissue remodeling in the foci of endometriosis
This study found that specific neurogenic markers (PGP 9.5, NGF, and NGFRp75) were differentially expressed in endometriosis foci, indicating nerve fiber remodeling and contributing to pain in patients with the condition.
