Experimental Models of Adenomyosis as the Basis for Developing New Methods in the Treatment of the Disease. Part II. Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Adenomyosis Treatment in Female Wistar Rats
Atosiban and high-dose resveratrol effectively treated experimental adenomyosis in rats, showing results comparable to dienogest in histological cure and pain relief.

This study evaluated treatment efficacy and tolerability for tamoxifen-induced adenomyosis in female Wistar rats, comparing intraperitoneal atosiban, oral trans-resveratrol at two doses, oral metformin, or oral dienogest versus untreated adenomyosis and healthy water controls, using histology and a hot plate pain test. The authors found the highest adenomyosis cure rates morphologically with atosiban (93%) and trans-resveratrol at 45 mg/kg/day (88%), comparable to dienogest (86%), with significant differences versus untreated adenomyosis and healthy controls (p<0.05); pain-related measures were also reported as improved in these best-performing groups. A stated limitation is that these are experimental, tamoxifen-induced rat models requiring further research before clinical use. This paper is centrally about endometriosis and adenomyosis research — it focuses specifically on adenomyosis and tests drug effects in an animal model.
