Features of pain syndrome in genital endometriosis and migraine
This study analyzed pain features in 79 women with endometriosis, finding that those with concomitant migraine experienced more severe chronic pelvic pain and higher central sensitization.

This study examined 79 women with laparoscopically confirmed genital endometriosis, comparing 38 with concomitant migraine to 41 without migraine, using neurological exams, questionnaires, pelvic ultrasound, pelvic pain index scores, and a central sensitization (CS) inventory. Chronic pelvic pain, dysmenorrhea, dyspareunia, and dyschesia were more common in the endometriosis+migraine group, while the comparison group had more asymptomatic endometriosis; the two groups did not differ in endometriosis forms, which the authors interpret as supporting a central mechanism role. Levels of central sensitization and pelvic pain index scores were significantly higher in those with chronic migraine (vs episodic migraine and vs endometriosis without migraine), and the paper notes that CS may contribute to both more severe endometriosis-related pain and increased migraine attacks. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — it analyzes how central sensitization relates to pain features in genital endometriosis comorbid with migraine.
