The Association between ABO and Rh Blood Groups and Risk of Endometriosis in Iranian Women.

This case-control study investigated whether ABO and Rh blood group distributions differ between Iranian women diagnosed with endometriosis and control women without endometriosis, using diagnostic laparoscopy at two referral infertility centers in Tehran between 2013 and 2014. Among 433 participants (213 with endometriosis and 220 controls), O and Rh+ were the most frequent blood groups, but statistical analyses using chi-square tests and logistic regression found no significant association between ABO (P=0.091) or Rh (P=0.55) blood groups and endometriosis risk. The study also reported no significant differences in ABO or Rh distributions by endometriosis stage, and no correlation with disease severity.
