Abstract

Pelvic floor disorders, including pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence, benign and malignant genital diseases are common gynaecological problems faced by older women. With the rapidly growing population of active older women, physicians are increasingly faced with the need to diagnose and treat these conditions. They tend to be amenable to both medical and surgical treatment, making a personalised approach to treatment essential. This literature review describes the main symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of the most common surgical gynaecological conditions in geriatric women.
