Abstract “I’m in pain again. There was one long beautiful pain-free month but now it’s back. And even as I write that last sentence I wonder – was I really pain free?” This is part of a narrative that will detail 20 years of adenomyosis and pelvic floor dysfunction, while reflecting on the research gaps that have impacted this experience. As a researcher at the intersection of menstrual health and contraception, and I am acutely aware of the levers we need to pull in both the patient advocacy and research spaces to improve the lives of patients like me.
