Abstract

Eight cases of “hypernephroid” clear cell carcinoma of the ovary are reported. As in the uterine cervix, our findings appear to indicate that clear cell carcinoma of the ovary is a low-grade malignancy which is associated with good prognosis. Although this tumor is probably related to endometriosis and endometrioid carcinoma, the authors suggest that the “hypernephroid” clear cell carcinoma of the ovary be recognized as a separate entity and its behavior studied through cumulative experience.
