Abstract

Endometriosis is the cause of pelvic pain (dysmenorrhea, dyspareunia) and infertility in more than 35% of women of reproductive age. \nIn 1997, we demonstrated that three entities must be clearly distinguished:\n- Peritoneal endometriosis\n- Ovarian endometriomas (chocolate cysts)\n- Retroperitoneal endometriosis or adenomyosis. \nIn this chapter, we focus on the diagnosis and management of peritoneal endometriosis.
