Abstract

Endometriosis is a relatively common condition with a higher prevalence (5–10% in the United States). It is defined by the presence of endometrial tissue outside the uterus. This disease has a high impact on patient’s quality of life because it is an important cause of pelvic pain; it has a high effect on sexual dysfunction and in fertility. The goal of this section is to analyze etiology, diagnosis, treatment, and effect on fertility of the disease.
