Resultados de cirugía resectiva colorrectal por Endometriosis Infiltrante Profunda. 6 años de experiencia.
This study compared discoidal and segmental colorectal resections for deep infiltrating endometriosis, finding discoidal resections led to earlier solid food reintroduction without significant differences in other outcomes.

This retrospective cross-sectional study evaluated early outcomes of colorectal resective surgery for deep infiltrating endometriosis in women treated at Clínica Indisa from 2016 to 2022, analyzing 160 patients who underwent either discoid resections (56) or segmental resections (104). Demographic and most surgical variables (approach, conversion rate, anastomosis height, and use of protective ostomy) were similar between groups except for a higher prevalence of smoking in the segmental group. Postoperatively, discoid resection was associated with a significantly earlier return to solid food (2 vs 3 days), while time to first intestinal transit, length of hospitalization, and Clavien-Dindo grade ≥3 complications showed no significant differences. Limitations are that the study is confined to a single private center and focuses on early outcomes over a 6-year experience. This paper is centrally about endometriosis—specifically deep infiltrating endometriosis requiring colorectal discoid versus segmental resections and their early postoperative outcomes.
