This case report studied a 43-year-old woman with rectal bleeding and constipation whose colonoscopy showed a 8–10 cm area of erythematous, granular sigmoid mucosa; initial random biopsies revealed only focal erosion and mild chronic inflammation. Because symptoms persisted and her history suggested possible endometriosis, the authors repeated flexible colonoscopy and performed deeper tissue sampling by injecting saline to separate tissue layers, followed by cold-forceps biopsies, which showed mucosal fragments consistent with endometriosis with CK-7 and CD10 positivity.
