This case report describes a 24-year-old patient presenting with intense cyclic pain at a suprapubic trocar scar site two years after undergoing operative laparoscopy for the removal of a left ovarian endometrioma. The authors identify this as an extremely rare instance of endometriosis developing at a surgical incision, noting that such cases have been documented in literature only once previously. They propose that the condition likely resulted from iatrogenic implantation of residual endometrial tissue into the abdominal wall during the extraction of the ovarian cyst. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — specifically focusing on the rare complication of trocar scar endometriosis following laparoscopic surgery.

Recenzija, Prikaz slučaja TROCAR SCAR ENDOMETRIOSIS Mihajlo Strelec ; Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University Hospital Zagreb, Petrova 13 Romana Dmitrović ; Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, General Hospital Nova Gradiška Sažetak A 24-year-old patient had an 8-month history of intense cyclic pain at the suprapubic trocar scar region. Two years earlier, the patient underwent operative laparoscopy during which endometrioma of the left ovary was removed. We present a case of endometriosis at a suprapubic trocar scar, which, to our knowledge, has previously been described in literature only once. Another rarity involved in this case is that the scar endometriosis developed after the removal of ovarian endometrioma. The most probable source of the trocar scar endometriosis is remnants of the tissue that remained in the abdominal wall during extraction of endometrioma.
