Endometrial Destruction by Hyperthermia — a Possible Treatment of Menorrhagia
An experimental study demonstrated that heating the endometrium to 58-65 degrees C via an intrauterine balloon for 30 minutes destroys endometrial and smooth muscle cells without damaging surrounding tissues, suggesting a potential treatment for menorrhagia.
