The paper discusses the treatment of endometriosis using long-acting injectable GnRH (LH-RH) analog buserelin, motivated by the view that endometriosis is estrogen-dependent and can be suppressed by states of low estradiol such as menopause. It frames GnRH-analog therapy as an established principle typically administered for about 6 months, and proposes that an ideal approach would be a single application delivering drug exposure for the full intended duration. A key caveat is that the paper notes the etiology and pathogenesis of endometriosis are not yet fully understood, which limits certainty about upstream mechanisms despite the hormonal rationale. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — specifically the use of long-acting injectable buserelin as a GnRH-analog treatment concept.
