AUTOIMUNIDADE EM PACIENTES COM ENDOMETRIOSE: ASSOCIAÇÃO CLINICOLABORATORIAL
This study found a higher prevalence of antinuclear antibodies (ANA) in endometriosis patients compared to controls, but no association between ANA positivity and disease staging or severity, nor reactivity for anti-ds-DNA antibodies.

This analytical cross-sectional study evaluated autoimmune markers in 94 patients with endometriosis confirmed by videolaparoscopy and biopsy (histopathology), comparing them with 91 age- and gender-matched controls. The investigators measured antinuclear factor (FAN) and assessed anti-DNA antibodies, reporting that endometriosis patients had a higher prevalence of FAN than controls. FAN positivity showed no association with endometriosis stage using the ASRM system or with disease severity, and patients with endometriosis did not show reactivity to anti–dsDNA antibodies. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — it examines the prevalence and clinical associations of antinuclear and anti-DNA autoantibodies in endometriosis patients.
