Abstract
La presencia de glandulas endometriales y estroma fuera del utero, tipicamente en la pelvis, se conoce como endometriosis. Una adolescente con este diagnostico normalmente se presenta con dolor pelvico cronico, y ella y su familia estaran deseosos de conocer la explicacion a sus sintomas. Tradicionalmente se creia que la endometriosis solo se daba rara vez en la adolescencia, pero al conocerse cada vez mas la enfermedad en la comunidad medica, se ha diagnosticado con mayor frecuencia. Este articulo se centra en esbozar la enfermedad y los problemas que rodean a su diagnostico y manejo en las adolescentes.
