Abstract

Pain during menstruation (dysmenorrhea) is one of the most frequent reasons for women to consult a gynecologist. Endometriosis and adenomyosis are the most common causes of a dysmenorrhea. Endometriosis is the presence of the endometrium outside the uterus. It is often associated with infertility. The latest data suggest, that the development of endometriosis and associated infertility is preceded by a hyperactivity of the uterus. This leads to the hypothesis, that on the contrary dysmenorrhea is the precursor of endometriosis. As a result of these theoretical considerations, the presently known therapies must be seen from a different point of view. These findings produce interesting naturopathic approaches for research and therapy for the early manifestations of this severe disease and for women with chronic lower abdominal pain, dysmenorrhea and idiopathic sterility. The neural therapy could be an adequate answer to diseases of this kind.
