Abstract

The evaluation and treatment of abnormal uterine bleeding due to anatomic abnormalities begins with confirmation of ovulation and concurrent identification of the abnormality. Laboratory testing and imaging studies are used to confirm the diagnosis established by history and physical examination. Polyps, fibroids, or adenomyosis is usually the cause mechanical abnormal bleeding.
