Abstract

The existence of a validated classification system of adenomyosis not only will enable the use of an objective and common language between scientists but also will provide clinical utility for prognosis or efficacy of medical or surgical approach across the different subtypes of adenomyosis. It is of utmost importance image-based classification systems correlate with the histopathological features of the disease. This article aims to give briefly recent advances regarding up-to-date classification methods based on correlation between histology and imaging techniques and discuss drawbacks and future perspectives.
