Abstract

The article is devoted to the study ofthe relationship ofthe concentration of vitamin D and the presence of pelvic pain in women associated with endometriosis. The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between vitamin D levels and intensity of pelvic pain in women with external genital endometriosis. Study design : cohort, prospective, not a comparative study. Materials and Methods : The study included 190 (n=190) of women of reproductive age suffering from external genital endometriosis (EGE), aged 20 to 41 years (mean age of 29.1±3.3 years). To determine the intensity of pelvic pain was used visual analogue scale (VAS). All studied women (n=190) baseline assessment of the status of vitamin D was performed by determining the level of total 25(OH) in serum by the method of mass-spectrometry is suitable in clinical practice according to international standards (DEQAS, NIST). Study Results : The average vitamin D level in the study made up 23.98±6, 82 ng/ml. The average content of vitamin D in the blood in patients with pelvic pain of low intensity was 26.7±5, 92 ng/ml, moderate - of 23.06±of 5.55 ng/ml, when expressed - of 19.26±6, 01 ng/ml. In the control group, the content of vitamin D in the blood made up 28, 83±6, 15 ng/ml, which met the criteria for failure. In the study, an inverse correlation between the severity of pain on VAS and vitamin D in women with endometriosis the main group - 0,502 (p<0.001) Conclusion: For women with external genital endometriosis was characterized by the decrease in the level of vitamin D to values meeting the criterion of failure of 23.98±6, 82 ng/ml, including those with severe pelvic pain of 19.26±6, 01 ng/ml deficiency. Discovered a statistically significant inverse correlation between the intensity of pelvic pain due to external genital endometriosis and vitamin D levels in the blood (p-0,502).
