Abstract

Endometriosis is a common disease, reaching 10-20% among women of reproductive age. Early diagnosis of this disease (at the stage of formation of endometriotic heterotopias) is difficult due to the absence of typical changes in such non-invasive examination methods: MRI scan, ultrasound, CT scan. At the same time, the gold standard for diagnosis is an aggressive surgical approach — laparoscopy, which allows you to see the exact localization and extent of the lesion with endometriosis. Thereby, this requires the search for new methods of timely diagnosis, which would allow diagnosing genital endometriosis at an early stage. This article presents an overview of scientific articles that examine the role of biochemical parameters (various interleukins, tumor necrosis factor alpha, iron, chemokine) in peritoneal fluid. An increase or decrease in these markers makes it possible to reveal if a patient has external genital endometriosis and can be a factor in non-invasive confirmation of the disease.
