Abstract

Endometriosis is a pathology characterized by the presence of endometrial cells outside the uterine cavity, a condition that causes pain and infertility. Because it is estrogendependent, the symptomatology is linked to the menstrual cycle, often being considered as a diagnostic hypothesis after complaint of infertility or of pelvic pain. Laparoscopy was considered the gold standard for consolidation of the diagnosis. Treatment includes pharmacological and / or surgical measures.
