This study examined uterine peristalsis in 218 infertile women with adenomyosis, uterine fibroids, or their combination, using ultrasound methods based on Lyons’ approach and analyzing results by age. Women with adenomyosis had a significantly higher frequency of disperistaltic waves (p<0.001), and type D waves were found in all patients after age 39, while the quantity of type A and B waves decreased in those with adenomyosis and with “hysteromyoma” (p5 years (p<0.05), and the authors’ conclusion is framed with an age-specific implication for fertility treatment selection, which limits interpretability beyond their dataset and design.
