Clinical study of endometriosis treated with Quyu Jiedu Keli and intrauterine insemination.

Objective To observe the efficacy of combined therapy of Quyu Jiedu Keli and intrauterine insemination(IUI)on infertility due to endometriosis(EM)of stasis toxin type and explore its mechanism.Methods 40 cases of EM-induced infertility of blood stasis and toxin retention type were randomly divided into control group and Chinese herb group,20 cases in each one.In control group,clomifene citrate capsule/human menopausal gonadotropin + IUI therapy were adopted directly.In treatment group,on the basis of treatment as control group,Quyu Jiedu Keli was administered.All the following indexes were observed before and after the treatment:integral score of blood stasis and toxin retention syndrome,thickness and type of the endometrium on the day of HCG administration,the levels of serum estradiol(E2)and progesterone(P)as well as the changes of serum tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and iterleulin-6(IL-6).Results Quyu Jiedu Keli relieved the symptoms,increased E2,decreased P level and increased endometrial thickness on the day of HCG administration as well as improved the syndrome and reduced serum TNF-α level.Conclusion Combined therapy of Quyu Jiedu Keli and IUI is one of the effective treatments for EM-related infertility.It is deduced that the mechanism of its efficacy is probably related with the improvements of endometrial blood flow and serum endocrinal hormone level as well as reduction of serum TNF-α level.
