Hintergrund: Eine Endometriose ist eine bekannte Ursache für Fertilitätsstörungen, und bei Kinderwunsch stellt die In-vitro-Fertilisation (IVF) mit kontrollierter ovarieller Hyperstimulation eine Behandlungsmöglichkeit dar. Es gibt aber Berichte, nach denen bei diesen Frauen während einer damit erreichten Schwangerschaft – wenn auch selten – ein spontanes Hämatoperitoneum auftreten kann. Europäische Mediziner sind der Frage nach einer solchen Assoziation nachgegangen.
