This paper reports a rare clinical case describing endoscopic management of a patient with cystic adenomyosis, focusing on how the lesion was treated and managed in practice using endoscopic techniques. The authors present the patient-level course and procedural aspects at a high level consistent with a case-report format, with the key outcome being successful endoscopic treatment of the cystic form of adenomyosis. A major limitation is that the evidence is confined to a single rare observation, which does not establish generalizable efficacy or safety. This paper is centrally about endometriosis and/or adenomyosis—specifically cystic adenomyosis treated endoscopically.

Abstract

The article presents a clinical case of endoscopic treatment of the patient with cystic adenomyosis and severe metrorrhagia. The presented clinical observation demonstrates the difficulties of making a clinical diagnosis in patients with such a rare pathology of the female reproductive system, and, consequently, increased awareness of the diagnosis of cystic adenomyosis will contribute to the choice of optimal treatment and management of such patients.
