Abstract

Objective:To investigate the influence of bruceolic oil emulsion on caspase-3 in eutopic and ectopic endometrium of rat with endometriosis,to offer evidence for the therapy of endometriosis with bruceolic oil emulsion. Methods:Femina rats were specimen, taking peritoneal injection with bruceolic oil emulsion after the endometriosis mode was set up by surgery of self endometrium transplant, the change of ectopic focus was observed and the expression of caspase-3 in the endometrium was detected by immunohistochemistry and Western blotting. Results:Protein was found in all specimens and the expression of caspase-3 in ectopic and eutopic endometrium of treated group was more than that of control group. Conclusion:Bruceolic oil emulsion could inhibit the growth of the ectopic endometrium in rats with experimentally induced endometriosis. The therapeutic mechanism may be related to promoting the apoptosis in ectopic endometrial tissue by increasing caspase-3 expression.
