Abstract

A primary theca granulosa cell tumor of the adrenal is reported. The tumor presented as a palpable, 1,000-g left suprarenal mass. Adrenal tissue was present in the tumor capsule. The renal parenchyma was not invaded. Both ovaries had been previously removed and were normal. The uterus contained the lesions often associated with theca granulosa cell tumors: pseudo-decidual change, endometrial polyps, adenomyosis, and fibroids. Gross and microscopic features were characteristic of the theca granulosa cell tumor.
